Rachel is interested in doing props in internships, assistantships, or graduate school following her graduation from Greensboro College in December of 2019. Their major is in design tech, focusing on props, and a minor in contemporary dance. They have worked as props apprentice at Endstation Theatre Company (2017) and Riverside Theatre (2019); and has worked as a props assistant at CPCC Summer Theatre (2018), and Volunteered as a Technician at Theatre Charlotte(2015-2016).
I have won awards for mixed media art and photography. I have taken classes onmasks and puppets; props; scene painting; hand drafting, creating floorplans, elevations, and rear elevations; CAD; scenic design creating 3 scene designs, one fully realized production; theatre history; world drama; play analysis; period styles; lighting design; sound design; and photography.
In my 3.5 years at Greensboro College has produced 7 to 14 shows a year. Greensboro College has a production lab Monday-Thursday, for 2 hours, where technicians work with actors and management majors in the production studio as well as Work Calls 3 days a week for just design tech majors. A Design tech Major dedicates 15 hours a normal week if they don't have a designer roll for the upcoming shows, and over 40 hours tech week. And while consistently taking 17 to 19 credit hours with this schedule, I have maintained a GPA of 3.639.
